Marvelous Events and Conferences
In January, we began to roll-out our national Technology partnership with Complete Purchasing Services (CPS & GESPRA). During 2024, we provided training to their account managers and attended events all across the country to support clients and offer in-person demos of our service robots and IoT devices. If you are a member of one of these group purchasing organizations for the senior care and hospitality sectors, please make sure to let us know!
In addition to the 20+ events in which we exhibited and participated, our Event Marvel Technologies division offered some creative use of photo robots, social robots and holograms to engage attendees and increase lead generation for exhibitors and event organizers. Contact eventmarvel@globaldws.com if you want to book a robot rental for 2025!
Artificial Intelligence Trade Mission
In March, 2024, our CTO and CEO, Rami Wehbe, was honoured to represent GlobalDWS as part of the Canadian delegation for the UK - Canada Artificial Intelligence trade mission with visits to Edinburgh, Scotland and London and Cambridge, England. Click to read his LinkedIn post.
GlobalDWS announces VirBrix Platform
After several successful pilot projects in 2023, GlobalDWS officially launched our made-in-Canada, AI-enabled VirBrix digital twin robotics platform at the NGen N3 Summit in Toronto (February 8) and the RealComm IBCon (Intelligent Building Conference) in Tampa, Florida (June 19-21).
At IBCon, VirBrix was showcased on the mainstage! VirBrix is an integrated hardware and software solution that inspects and analyzes the health & safety, occupancy, physical security and ESG of workplace environments. We now offer building owners and facility managers an unprecedented opportunity to analyse air quality data, monitor noise and light levels and create 3D maps/digital twins of their commercial real estate portfolios. Expediting decision-making and integrating with building automation/management systems, the energy savings and improvements in space utilization are just two of the valuable benefits of this technology.
VirBrix was also featured at the October 2024 RPIC/Real Property National Workshop in Ottawa as part of a presentation titled: "Innovation in the Workplace: Embracing Opportunities for the Future of Work".
Thank you to our clients Alexandre Olivier Pérusse, Director, Innovative Projects, Analytics and Shared Space, and Kelsey Edwards, Manager, Innovative Projects, from Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) for explaining their Workplace Analytics project pictured here.
Trinity Village Care Centre and This is LTC
In October, at the 10th Annual "This is Long-Term Care" conference hosted by the Ontario Long-Term Care Association (OLTCA), we led a joint presentation together with one of our clients, Trinity Village Care Centre: "Deploying Social Robots and AI to Improve the Quality of Life for Residents and Staff in LTC".
OLTCA also published a wonderful article that we invite you to read: "Robots offer social engagement and data". Debby Riepert, COO at Trinity Village shared her insights including one of our favourite quotes: "Collectively, the robots have become valuable tools for enhancing resident experiences and advancing the home's monitoring, tracking and communication practices."
A full summary of TiLTC and images from the presentation can be found on our blog post. The OLTCA article is available here: https://www.oltca.com/newsroom/ltc-today/
Technology Adoption Roadmaps
One of our key strategic developments in 2024 was the evolution of GlobalDWS from being a certified advisor for Canada's Digital Adoption Program to offering our customized Digital Assessment and Technology Adoption Planning projects. If you were on any of our fall webinars, or had a 1:1 introduction from our team, you will have seen the image above - depicting the solid foundation offered by having a "Technology Adoption Roadmap" and conducting Proof of Concept (POC) paid trials to improve stakeholder engagement and the likelihood of success for your technology deployments. Testimonial: Salvation Army
Monica Klein-Nouri, Executive Director, at Meighen Manor Health Centre of the Salvation Army recently provided this testimonial: “I am delighted that we now have a comprehensive Technology Adoption Roadmap for Meighen Manor Health Centre. Thanks to the professional guidance and support from GlobalDWS, we were able to do a digital assessment and prioritize our technology options with a clear sense of the cost, timelines, risks and benefits of each option.”
Testimonial: Learn Different
We recently completed a custom software development project with Learn Different, an innovative company that is working to empower educators. We are thankful for this recent testimonial from Chad Stewart, Head of Operations:
"It has been great to work with GlobalDWS for our custom software development project. We chose them based on their years of experience with the education sector and their proven ability to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions tailored to our needs.
"Learn Different now offers a culturally responsive, online academic reading assessment platform that removes barriers to knowledge demonstration and helps educators make more unbiased evaluations. We are thankful for the collaboration with GlobalDWS and look forward to seeing the impact of our custom-built assessment and reporting tools on both teachers and students."
Commitment to Continuing Education, Research & Development
In 2024, we continued our collaboration with numerous higher education institutions including George Brown College (GBC). The image below summarizes some of the courses we developed to empower people with continuing education certificates. We are pleased to announce the latest topic: Data Ethics and Privacy.
Cybersecurity is a subject on everyone's mind these days. In addition to the six courses in Cybersecurity we developed for GBC, GlobalDWS is proud to be a supporter for Cyber Nations Foundation, a global program designed to engage 100,000 African, Caribbean and Canadian learners to be trained as cybersecurity operations analysts, incident responders, vulnerability specialists, and cyber literacy coordinators, with a path to employment.
GlobalDWS is also pleased to offer program and project management support for Protexxa - a rapidly growing, global company headquartered in Toronto, Canada, helping CIOs, CISOs, and CEOs manage the human side of cybersecurity.
CILAR: Coalition of Innovation Leaders Against Racism
During 2024, GlobalDWS participated with CILAR at several events - including the one pictured below to engage students with robotics and AI. Below is one of the classroom visits to Kingsview Village Junior School in Etobicoke.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
(EDI) is integral to our DNA, fueling our mission to enhance the quality of life through smart technologies. In the spring, Rami and Yahya participated in a CILAR event hosted by Siemens Canada President and CEO Faisal Kazi where they provided a tour of the Siemens' Living Lab, exploring generative AI, sustainability, smart buildings and digital transformation.
